Our mission is to curate a selection of literature that not only resonates with the queer community of Central Florida but also uplifts and amplifies the stories written for and by LGBTQIA+ individuals. By championing inclusivity and diversity, we aim to provide a sanctuary where every reader can see themselves and their stories reflected in the pages of our books. Our passion lies in making visibility within literature a reality for the queer community in Central Florida and beyond, ensuring that their lives, loves, and experiences are honored and recognized.

Florida-created to serve the community

The concept for Lavender Books was born from a desire to create community in a state where LGBTQ+ rights and spaces are being threatened and removed.

We believe it is imperative to not let the loud minority strip away places and products that explore and embrace inclusivity, equality, and acceptance.

Once open to the public, we will unabashedly offer books from all minority backgrounds, sexualities, and in all age ranges with the hope of highlighting and offering selections from local LGBTQ+ artisans.

Where are you located?

We are currently searching for an affordable brick-and-mortar location in an area that we feel would be a safe place to allow our customers a haven away from anyone or anything that may make them feel uncomfortable. With the current climate in Florida and the United States in general, we want to assure everyone that no matter where we end up, it will be a location that has zero tolerance for hatred, bigotry, or violence.
